Shake Off That Easter Sugar

Updated: Apr 12, 2022

Are You Eating Too Much Sugar?

It’s not the sugar we add to our recipes when we are cooking that is the problem. It’s the sugar that is added by the food industry to their recipes that is the problem.

Did you know that some brands of tomato sauce contains more sugar per servings than two Oreo biscuits? Also many processed foods contain sugar in various disguises, like fructose, corn sugar, dextrose, glucose, high-fructose glucose syrup, honey, maple syrup, agave syrup, invert sugar, maltose, molasses, and sucrose!!!!

The food industry use sugar to disguise the taste of processed ingredients like refined white flour and added chemicals. As a result we become stuck in a cycle of food cravings that cause spikes in our blood sugar. These spike triggers dopamine in the brain. Dopamine is the hormone responsible for pleasure. We begin to associate sugar with pleasure and it becomes difficult to resist the goodies that fill our senses as we pass them in the supermarket or in the treat box.

Can you break out of this cycle?

The simple answer is YES. This is aim of my 5 day sugar free challenge.

We don't throw all sugars out of the window, but we avoid the damaging ones used by the food industry. Breaking free of these sugars will help to increase your energy levels, help you feel better within yourself, and help you take control of what you eat. The challenge includes:

  • A 5 day meal planner, with recipes and a shopping list. (Vegan one available too).

  • There will be a Free Facebook Group where you will get support and lots of ideas on how to follow the challenge.

  • You will have access to a daily recorded live cookery class or nutrition class that will help, educate and inform you about how to reduce your sugar intake during the 5 day challenge.

If you follow the full 5 day meal planner you will get results. If you engage, try your best, and enjoy the journey you will feel encouraged even if you don't do all the tasks. Either way you will get wins. Wins that will make a difference to your life, health and wellbeing. The programme is ideal for those who want to boost their immune system, reduce digestive symptoms, improve their moods, or shake off some of that weight that crept on after eating all that chocolate over Easter.
