BSc, Dip ION, mBANT, CNHC

I am a Glasgow based Nutritional Therapist and a member of the British Association of Nutritional Therapists (BANT). I am also registered with the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC). I completed my diploma at the Institute for Optimum Nutrition, whose teaching was based on functional medicine.  I am also qualified in using functional testing, such as stool testing, hormonal testing, SIBO, hair mineral tests and many more. This allows me to help people identify nutritional imbalances in their body and provide a tailor made plan to address those imbalances through diet and nutrition.

As well as working as a therapist I am accredited with the Royal Environmental Health Institute of Scotland (REHIS) and work with companies such as Urban Roots and the NHS delivering community based education on nutrition, healthy eating and cooking for people of all ages and backgrounds.

My background is originally IT. I worked in the financial and government sectors for 19 years before taking a career break to raise my children. During this time, I re-evaluated my career options and studied with the Open University. After seeing the many benefits of nutritional therapy in my own life, I decided to pursue studies in that area. I suffered with chronic fatigue, candida, hormonal imbalances, endometriosis, was easily stressed and had numerous unpleasant digestive symptoms. I tried many paths such as conventional medicine, homeopathy, acupuncture but nothing was as successful as nutritional therapy which involved dietary changes and supplements. With the help of testing I managed to get to some of the root causes of my many ailments. Today I am incredibly excited about my newfound health and I therefore want to be able to help other people reach their optimum health too.

Getting it right can be difficult. This is where I can help out. My philosophy is that healthy choices lead to a healthier lifestyle. Sometimes we can be unsure of what healthy eating means to us as individuals especially if we are struggling with a chronic condition, food sensitivities or general ill health. Together we can create an individualised plan to optimise your health and well-being.

The process involves an assessment by questionnaire which factors in age, genetics, lifestyle, and health history, as well as digestive and immune status. We follow this up with private consultations and provide a personalised programme for you to follow. There are also workshops and support groups available for you to join to help you keep track on your road to a new healthy and happy lifestyle. Testing and supplements may also be recommended.
